Once again, the Poetry Pharmacy played host to a fantastic launch. I was there to support Meg Cox as she unveiled A Square of Sunlight, appearing alongside Jean Atkin and James Sheard.

It was indeed a sun-filled afternoon with much laughter, Prosecco and fine poetry!

I was delighted to read at the launch of my great friend and poet Jean Atkin. Her latest pamphlet The Bicycles of Ice and Salt (Indigo Dreams) is out now.

We had a wonderful afternoon at The Poetry Pharmacy in Bishop’s Castle, Shropshire where I read from my collection Aunts Come Armed with Welsh Cakes. The poem I chose was written after an infuriating evening at the theatre watching Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler.

As I said at Jean’s launch: “I got so cross. Crosser, and crosser… But at least I got a couple of poems out of it.”

I shared the stage at The Poetry Pharmacy with fellow poets Margaret Adkins, Steve Griffiths, Gareth Culshaw and Wolverhampton Poet Laureate Kuli Kohli. And Jean, of course!
